REPURPOSED CANDLE JAR

If you're like me you're addicted to those Bath & Body Works candles that are just so tempting to buy during their 2 for $20 sale. And if you're really like me you're a total hoarder that has no idea what to do with the empty jar and can't bare to throw the thing away... so you have a stack of them under your kitchen sink just sitting there for over a year, only to be haunted every time you reach for a dishwasher tablet.

Thankfully I now can reach for a dishwasher tablet guilt free... no longer haunted by used up candles taking up space!

Here is what you need!
- Empty candle jars
- Yarn
- planting stuff: potting soil, draining rocks, succulent.

(To clean out the remainder of the wax I found the easiest way to take it out is to stick the jar into the freezer overnight. Then pop/crack the wax out with a butter knife. When the jar is back into room temperature clean the remaining reside with dishwasher soap and warm water.)

Crocheting around the jar was a lot easier than I anticipated... especially using a thick yarn made it fairly quick! I didn't save the link (found on Pinterest) on how to crochet around a jar and when I tried looking for it just now I was swamped with unfamiliar links. Just search something like "crochet jar tutorial" or something along that nature.

Here is what you need for the pen jar:
Glass paint
- Reinforcement stickers

In order to get the spacing somewhat decent I decide to use hole punch reinforcement stickers and stuck them inside the jar and used them as a guide.

Here's a photo for reference:

And there you go! Happy crafting!

HELLO, internet!

After years of going back and forth of whether or not I should blog I finally decided to take the plunge! Because... WHY NOT?

CRAFTERNOON THERAPY will vary in a broad range of crafting: anything from scrapbooking, crochet, sewing, home DIY, etc.

I have always been a craft supply hoarder/junkie and one of my resolutions for the year 2015 is to use up most of my supplies. I am trying to live less cluttered, more creative life and seeking that nudge that will help me do so. I am hoping this blog will challenge me to MAKE MORE STUFF and hopefully inspire others to do so as well. Thank you for joining me in this journey! XO.

(Please excuse the semi-randomness of this post because there is a few things to say and difficult to make it an easy read-- thank you!)
