Thankfully I now can reach for a dishwasher tablet guilt free... no longer haunted by used up candles taking up space!
Here is what you need!
- Empty candle jars
- Yarn
- planting stuff: potting soil, draining rocks, succulent.
(To clean out the remainder of the wax I found the easiest way to take it out is to stick the jar into the freezer overnight. Then pop/crack the wax out with a butter knife. When the jar is back into room temperature clean the remaining reside with dishwasher soap and warm water.)
Crocheting around the jar was a lot easier than I anticipated... especially using a thick yarn made it fairly quick! I didn't save the link (found on Pinterest) on how to crochet around a jar and when I tried looking for it just now I was swamped with unfamiliar links. Just search something like "crochet jar tutorial" or something along that nature.
Here is what you need for the pen jar:
- Glass paint
- Reinforcement stickers
In order to get the spacing somewhat decent I decide to use hole punch reinforcement stickers and stuck them inside the jar and used them as a guide.
Here's a photo for reference:
And there you go! Happy crafting!
